Burns Night

Our celebartion of the life
and work of Robert Burns

Virtual Robert Burns Night

Our virtual celebration of the life and work of WB and Companion Robert Burns, Poet Laureate of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Born in Ayrshire in 1759, Robert Burns is Scotland’s national bard. Affectionately known as ‘the Ploughman Poet’, his verses stand as a fitting testament to Scotland’s proud literary history.

Our special evening was hosted by Craftsman Online History co-editor, Bro. Nathan Tweedie. While a traditional Burns Night features a supper or formal dinner, our event was a bring your own Haggis night. There was traditional Scottish fare including a scotch whisky flight tasting, hosted by RW Dan Eckman. Toasts and songs from Freemasons across New York State, the history of Scotland, poems, and a stirring singing of “Auld Lang Syne,” to close the evening.

Moderated by RW Steven Adam Rubin, Grand Treasurer, Grand Lodge of New York.
